Step 2: Numbing
We apply a topical numbing cream to your lips before treatment begins. Most patients find lip filler surprisingly comfortable after numbing – a slight pressure sensation rather than real pain. The numbing cream takes about 15 to 20 minutes to take full effect.
Step 3: The injection
The actual injection process takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Elana uses precise technique to place filler in the exact areas needed – adding volume, defining the border, or correcting asymmetry as discussed. You are in control throughout: if you want to check the mirror or ask a question, just say so.
Step 4: Aftercare and results
Immediately after your appointment, you may notice some swelling and possibly light bruising – this is completely normal and typically resolves within 3 to 7 days. Your final result will be visible once the swelling fully settles, usually around day 7 to 14.
